THE CLUB HOUSE

I receive many invitations and seldom do I turn up… however when the invitation for The Club House arrived in my inbox it captured my attention.

It’s Hampton style exterior, chandeliers made from champagne glasses and outside BBQ all seemed very American for Liverpool. This made me want to go and have nosey as it was different.

I was greeted at the door by the manager Jess, she introduced herself politely and led my friend Lauren and I upstairs, we then met a lady called Katy who took us to our table and as we sat down we took in the amazing atmosphere.

We were so spoilt for choice when we perused the drinks menu…. We then got the news every Liverpool girl loves to hear, COCKTAILS ON TAP!!  yes, it’s true they can whip up a tasty cocktail in seconds. I ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri and it was delicious, I was told that they had over 100 ales to choose from, I don’t know much about beer but the cherry one sounds nice….

After looking at their website I learn that they offer Ale Tasting Masterclass packages so I might brush up on The Brewmasters Trilogy.

The feel of The Club House is a strange one, it has New York’s style yet it feels homely and lived in. it is not at all pretentious but it would make a stately home feel inferior. It is chic with some chintz and lots of class.

I ordered Flattened rump seasoned with garlic and chilli salt which was juicy and cooked to perfection, my chips were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and just like my nan used to cook.  Lauren enjoyed Chicken and Chips with Peri Peri sauce which she said was delish, I was a little jealous of hers as it come in a cool little box.

The food was described as pub food however it was something far more special, the kebab skewers ordered by the couple next to us looked a right treat, again I felt the eclecticism of The Club House was so refreshing and just what Liverpool has been waiting for.

My main course was really tasty and filled me right up but I felt I needed to try the strawberry and marshmallow kebab with sailor jerry chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. Just out of politeness of course. OH MY GOSH I’m so glad I did, what a treat.

I can’t convey my experience of The Club House with words as you really do need to see it to feel it. I can imagine sitting outside in the summer, cocktails on tap, enjoying freshly barbequed chicken and resting my weary legs after a hard day of shopping as the location of this grand pub is right in the heart of Liverpool 1, it is right in the middle of our lovely Chavasse Park.

I cannot tell you about The Club House without mentioning the Live music which you are treated to EVERY night, from old classics to new hits, I was bopping away whilst sipping on my third daiquiri! I felt like I was at home enjoying a lovely chat with friends, eating beautifully cooked food and I’m not sure why but I felt all nostalgic.

Thank you New World Trading Co for giving Liverpool such a fantastic place, we've been waiting so long for New York chic and finally it's here... With bells on!
